Jarlon Tsang

Mr. Tsang, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of H&Q Asia Pacific, is responsible for the firm's private equity investments in Greater China. Mr. Tsang joined H&Q Asia Pacific in 2002, and has been actively involved in the investment and monitoring activities in the Greater CHina region and throughout Asia. Mr. Tsang currently serves on a number of boards for portfolio companies in China, including Guangxi Yulin Yuchai Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd., Sinogen International, Ltd., and Shenzhen Kexing Biological Engineering Co., Ltd.

Mr. Tsang, as the COO, is also responsible for all of H&QAP's operational activities, including finance, administration, legal, compliance, public relations, fundraising, and investor relations. Prior to joining H&QAP, Mr. Tsang practiced at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP and prior to that at O'Melveny & Myers LLP. His business law practice focused on the representation of private equity funds, and private and public companies with a specialization in private equity fund formation, partnership, corporate M&A and securities law. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Tsang was a senior auditor with Coopers & Lybrand, LLP (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).

Mr. Tsang received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He received a J.D. cum laude and M.B.A from Boston University School of Law and Graduate School of Management, respectively. Mr. Tsang is an active member of the California State Bar and is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Tsang is currently a board member of Monte Jade Science and Technology Association, and a member of the Pacific Pension Institute.
