Dr. Laura D'Andrea Tyson

Dr. Tyson is the S. K and Angela Chan Professor of Global Management at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. She is a member of President Barack Obama’s Council of Jobs and Competitiveness and a member of Secretary Hillary Clinton’s Foreign Affairs Policy Board.

Dr. Tyson is also a Senior Advisor at the McKinsey Global Institute and serves on the Advisory Council of the Brookings Institution Hamilton Project. She is a member of the National Academies’ Board on Science, Technology and Economic Policy and a co-chair of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Women’s Empowerment. Tyson serves on the Boards of Directors Of Morgan Stanley, AT&T, Silver Spring Networks, CBRE Group Inc., and the Peter G. Peterson Institute of International Economics.

Previous to that, Dr. Tyson was Dean of London Business School from 2002-2006 and Dean of Haas School of Business from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Tyson served as a member of President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (2009-2011) and was the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers (1993-1995) and the President’s National Economic Adviser (1995-1996).

Dr. Tyson attained a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
