Robert Shen
Mr. Shen, Managing Director of H&Q Asia Pacific Shanghai, is responsible for investments in Silicon Valley and Asia. Prior to joining H&Q Asia Pacific, Mr. Shen held various management positions including General Manager of Optical Transponder Business for Lucent Microelectronics; Chief Technical Officer of Broadband and Ethernet Communications; and General Manager for Ethernet communications for Lucent Microelectronics. In late 1995, Robert founded Enable Semiconductor to develop and market IC solutions for High Speed Ethernet Communications and Mobile communications segments. Three years later, after successfully building and growing the company, Robert spun off Enable's Mobile business to form NanoAmp Solutions and sold the rest of Enable to Lucent Technologies. Before founding Enable, Robert was the President of 8x8 Inc. (Nasdaq, EGHT), a leading Video conferencing IC solutions company spending 6 years in developing and selling the industry leading DSP+CPU solutions for Video conferencing to AT&T, Sony, Deutsch Telecom, British Telecom, Dornier, MB, NEC, Mitsubishi, Picturetel, et cetera. Before 8x8, Robert spent 6 years at VLSI Technology as a Director for ASIC Cell-based business and a Director for Wafer FAB. Robert started his career in Texas Instruments after graduate school (B.S., M.S. and Doctoral educations in Electrical Engineering).
Robert spent 3 years in developing and managing high voltage/high speed RF Power IC products using DMOS and VMOS and 3 years running the non-volatile memory and DSP device-engineering group. |
